The Grower

I am an advocate for sustainable land use practices and empowering people. My background comes from good books, great teachers, and getting my hands dirty on projects that have shaped my thinking and relationship to built and living systems. I draw upon over 10 years of experience as a volunteer coordinator and crew leader, gardener, carpenter, designer, and engaged activist. I have a passion for civic engagement and service learning that serves as the foundation for my livelihood.

You can tell what kind of farmer a person is by looking at whats on their bookshelf.

I have been mentored in green building, landscape design/installation, permaculture, applied horticulture, sustainable food systems, and many other vocations over the course of my continuing education and professional career. My teachers come from many places; and I have learned the power of collaboration and growing together over specialization and competition. I never stop exploring new (or very old and indigenous) and innovative ways of bringing the language and skills of the built and natural world into use as tools for us to imagine and create.

I am excited to be able to continue to grow and develop the valuable wisdom and relationships that create more resilient communities... and it is my privilege to be able to be of service.
